Urbanization and Human Development in Kabul City

Pietro Calogero is a doctoral student at the University of California at Berkeley, USA. His doctoral dissertation focuses on urban planning processes in Kabul. Mr. Calogero is a native of Spain.

In this lecture Mr. Pietro Calogero examines the relationship between the speed of urbanization in Kabul, and Human Development in this fast-growing city.

Many factors influence the nature and forms of this relationship, including international policies, the continued civil strife, state-society relations, and government development policies in this capital city of Afghanistan.

By examining these complex factors and relationships, several critical questions and unexpected possibilities become apparent. Mr. Calogero seeks to discuss and debate these critical questions and possibilities with his audience.
