SERRANA
Academic Journal of Kabul
University
In April 2009, Centre for Policy and Human Development supported the revival of Kabul University Academic Journal SERRANA, after a nearly 25 year long period of inactivity. The history of Serrana journal goes back to the late 1960s, when Kabul University first launched its ever first academic journal. In early 1980 due to the fragile and unstable political situation in the country, Kabul University was forced to suspend the production of the quarterly academic journal. Acknowledging the importance of the journal in promoting a culture of research in Afghanistan, CPHD in partnership with Kabul University in late 2007 decided to review the prospects of re-launching the journal. In providing financial and technical support, CPHD enabled Kabul University to reactivate its official journal after its dormant decades. The first volume of Serrana 2nd edition was published in April 2009 in three languages: Pashto, Dari, and English. SERRANA is today a quarterly journal accepting research and academic articles relevant to Afghanistan from both Afghan and International academics and researchers.
